Demo trading: paper results with real market data

The automatic Demo account on every plan - what it trades, the Open trades / Closed trades / Dashboard views, Ask me / Auto, pausing and Reset.

What the demo account is

Every user, on every plan and during the trial, gets a Demo trading account the first time the Trading page loads. It is a paper account that runs on exactly the same executor as a real exchange account: signals are taken from the model you choose, filled at the live price with the exchange's fee schedule and slippage, managed after entry by the same rules, and charged funding from the exchange's own history. Nothing is sent to an exchange and no API key is needed.

Use it to judge the models with real market data before you risk anything, and to try settings (an algorithm, a Pair Model option, a coin's budget) without consequences.

How it starts

  • A starting paper balance (10,000 USDT unless the operator set another figure) on Bybit's fee schedule.
  • Execution Auto: calls are taken without asking you.
  • The platform's recommended settings: algorithm, options and coin defaults are copied from the operator's reference demo when the account is created. From then on every setting is yours.
  • The coins on your watchlist are attached to its Pairs table; coins you watch later join it automatically while the demo is running. You can also add or remove coins in the Pairs table yourself.

Where to look

Pick the Demo tab at the top of the Trading page, then:

View What it shows
Open trades A summary (balance, equity, open positions with long / short / in profit counts, net unrealised, margin in use, today) and the open positions table with every management button. See Close %, Edit, BE and Close.
Closed trades Every closed trade with filters (date, coin, side, result), a daily net P&L chart and the totals: trades, net P&L, win rate, profit factor, average win and loss, fees + funding, stops / liquidations. CSV downloads the filtered rows.
Dashboard Charts of the closed trades: profit against loss, best coins, hours and weekdays, for any period.
Settings The account settings, the algorithm card, the Pairs table and the global risk rules.

The figures mean:

Figure Meaning
balance Realised balance after fees and funding.
equity Balance plus the net unrealised P&L of open trades.
net P&L Realised result after fees and funding for the trades in the filter.
win rate Winning closed trades / all closed trades.
profit factor Gross profit / gross loss. Above 1 means profitable; ∞ while there is no losing trade.

Ask me or Auto

The demo starts in Auto. Switch it to Ask me in its settings and each call becomes a proposal you approve or reject (see Exchange trading accounts).

Pausing

Pause new trades at the top of the page (or the new trades switch in Settings) stops new entries. Open demo trades keep being managed: their stop, take-profit and trailing stay active. Resume new trades starts again with the next call.

Reset

Reset demo (in the demo's Settings) asks for confirmation, then closes open demo trades at market, archives the trade history (it leaves the views and the statistics) and restores the starting balance. Statistics start again from that moment.

Limits

  • The demo is paper only: it cannot be switched to live and has no API keys. It never counts against your plan's 10 exchange accounts.
  • Hedge mode (a long and a short on the same coin at once) works on demo and paper accounts, and live on MEXC, Bybit and Binance; see Pair Model account options.
  • Paper fills are close to, but never identical with, real fills: a live exchange can fill later or at a slightly worse price, especially in fast markets. Treat demo results as an upper bound, not a forecast. Read the risk disclosure.
