Exchange trading accounts (MEXC, Bybit and Binance)

Demo and exchange accounts, Paper versus Live, Ask me versus Auto, the keyring and API keys, the account settings, the Pairs table (daily loss budget, margin per trade), skipped calls, trade management and exchange-synced numbers.

Overview

The Trading page runs the models' calls on trading accounts. Every user has an automatic Demo paper account (see Demo trading). In addition you can create exchange accounts with your own API key for live auto-trading on MEXC, Bybit and Binance USDT-margined perpetuals.

  • Non-custodial. Your money stays on your exchange account. The platform only sends orders with a key you create with trade permission and no withdrawal permission; it cannot deposit, withdraw or transfer anything.
  • Every plan. Exchange accounts are part of every plan, up to 10 exchange accounts; the demo never counts. See Plans and limits.
  • Paper first. A new exchange account starts in Paper mode, so you can run it against live prices before any real order is sent.

The exchange picker may list a few more exchanges; MEXC, Bybit and Binance are the supported ones for live auto-trading.

The Trading page

  • Account tabs across the top: one per account, with a dot (red = live, green = running in paper, grey = paused) and a badge when proposals are waiting. + exchange account creates a new one.
  • Pause new trades / Resume new trades for the selected account, Pause all / Resume all when you have several, and Close ALL positions (an emergency button that closes every open position on every account after a confirmation).
  • The Keyring bar (see below).
  • Views per account: Dashboard, Open trades, Closed trades, Proposals and Settings.

Creating an exchange account

  1. Click + exchange account, type a name, choose MEXC, Bybit or Binance Futures and click Create. If you have no account on that exchange yet, the form shows our partner link (see How we make money).
  2. The account starts in Paper mode, Ask me execution and a simulated balance of 1,000 USDT, with the platform's recommended settings.
  3. In Settings, add your API key (below), attach coins in the Pairs table and pick the algorithm.

The keyring

API keys are stored encrypted with a password only you know. The Keyring bar shows locked or unlocked.

  • The first unlock sets the password (badge first unlock sets the password). There is no recovery: if you forget it, delete and re-enter the keys.
  • Unlock before saving keys or trading live. Lock forgets the decrypted keys and disconnects live trading until you unlock again.
  • Keys are never shown again after saving.

API keys

  1. On the exchange, create an API key with futures / contract trade permission only and no withdrawal rights. MEXC: the key needs the futures trade permission. Binance: enable Futures on the key (Binance is restricted in some regions). Bybit: Contract / Unified trade permission.
  2. In Settings > API keys paste the key and secret, click Save keys (the keyring must be unlocked), then Test connection. In paper mode the test checks public endpoints only; in live mode it signs a request and reads your balance.
  3. The status badge in the account header becomes connected or error (hover for the message).

Paper versus Live

Paper fills orders against the live price with the exchange's fees and an assumed slippage, using the same executor as live trading. Live sends real orders. The Paper / Live switch refuses to go live until the keyring is unlocked and keys are stored, then asks you to confirm. A live account is outlined in red and shows the wallet balance read from the exchange (with a refresh button).

Ask me versus Auto

  • Ask me (default for new exchange accounts): a call that passes the checks does not open a trade. It becomes a proposal with the suggested size, leverage, margin, stop-loss and take-profit, a trade sound and a popup; it also appears under Proposals. Edit the numbers if you like, then Approve (the checks run again and the order is placed) or Reject. A proposal expires with its signal.
  • Auto: the call is executed at once within your settings and budgets. The demo starts in Auto.

Account settings

Setting What it does
from … % conf Your confidence bar: only calls whose win chance is at or above it are traded (Auto) or proposed (Ask me). Your number; nothing overwrites it.
+expectancy only Only calls with a positive historical expectancy are taken. Recommended for real money.
stop engine: the platform's stop and trade management. none: no stop-loss at all - the trade ends at the take-profit or at liquidation. Use none only on paper.
TP … % margin Your own take-profit for every trade on the account, as % of margin after fees. Empty = the model's / platform's take-profit.
new trades on / paused Off = no new position is opened (calls are still logged); open positions keep being managed.
entry market: enter at market while the price is still inside the call's range. limit: rest a limit order and cancel it if the call expires. Pair Model trades always use their own maker limit entry.
follow signal On: each trade uses the signal's own leverage, stop and target unless you set your own.
leverage The account's leverage. With follow signal on, typing one here overrides the signal's; a coin's own leverage in the Pairs table still wins.
paper balance The simulated balance (paper mode).

Under it sit the algorithm card (Auto-trading algorithms, Pair Model account options) and the Stake card (an optional total margin for the account, shared equally over its coins).

The Pairs table

Only coins in the account's Pairs table are traded. Per coin:

Column Meaning
Daily budget A daily loss budget in USDT, not a margin pot: the coin stops trading for the day once its net loss today reaches this amount. Winning trades do not use it up. A trade's margin is never more than what is left of it.
Max margin / trade The margin of each trade on this coin. Every long and every short gets its own, so a long and a short open together use 2x this, and three trades on the coin up to 3x.
Stop % Your own stop-loss for this coin, % of price. It beats the signal's stop, but the platform's maximum stop still applies.
Leverage Leverage for this coin only; beats the account's and the signal's.
Max trades/day How many trades this coin may open per day.
Enabled Off = no new trades on this coin; open ones keep being managed.

Empty fields use the defaults, scaled to the account's balance. A coin marked (not watched) is not on your watchlist; it is still traded if the account's model signals it.

Checks before every entry

The executor refuses a trade when the account or coin is paused, the coin's daily budget is used up, the coin's trades per day are used, there is not enough free balance, the account has already reached its daily loss stop or its maximum open positions, a position is already open on the coin (unless several trades per coin or hedge mode allow it), or the coin's crash level is warning or critical for a long. These limits, the daily budget reset hour, fees and slippage for paper fills, the auto-close of longs on a crash critical alert and the default trade management are in Global risk settings at the bottom of Settings; click Save risk settings after a change.

Skipped calls lists every call on the account's coins that was not traded, newest first, with the reason (for example not enough wallet balance, the daily budget used up, a position already open). On a real-money account a wallet problem also sends an alert.

Open trades and trade management

The Open trades view lists every position with entry, mark, liquidation, Stop piles, unrealised and net P&L, fees, funding, leverage, margin, the current stop (with a BE or trail badge), the take-profit, the expected result at TP, the best price so far and the time-stop column.

Every open trade - demo, paper or live - can be managed by hand:

The platform also manages trades by itself: the algorithm's own exit (for Pair Model trades the late trailing after 12 hours), and a max loss guard that closes any trade whose net loss reaches the share of its margin set in Global risk settings. On a live account every stop move is made on the exchange too, so the exchange stop and the one in the table are the same.

Exchange-synced numbers

On a live trade the exchange is the source of truth. Every few seconds the platform reads the position and takes over the exchange's entry, quantity, leverage, unrealised P&L, mark price, liquidation price and margin; fees are summed from your fills. Such trades carry the badge exchange. When the exchange no longer shows the position (stop or take-profit hit, or you closed it in the exchange app) the local trade is closed from the exchange's own realised result, with reason closed on exchange.

Paper and demo trades show the same columns computed locally from the exchange's fee schedule and funding history, with the badge paper.

Note: a trading account only sees its own trades. Orders you place by hand in the exchange app are tracked in My Positions; see My Positions.

Before you go live

Run the same algorithm and coins on the demo or in paper mode first, start with small margins, and keep in mind that live fills can be later and worse than paper fills. Auto-trading can lose money quickly with leverage; read the risk disclosure.
